Biography
Natty Royal was born on August 31st 1980 in Kingston, Jamaica
as Leighton Anthony Thomas. Natty Royal is a humble, kind and Peace
making person who always tries to see the good in everyone, a strong
defender of equal rights and justice for all. Growing up he always had
love for music, but wasn't sure if that was something he could see
himself doing. His musical influencers are the late great Bob Marley and
wailers, on the softer side he loved listening to Celine Dion and Sarah
McLachlan.
Migrated to Toronto, Canada on July 25, 2002 and began seeking
Rastafari, and started attending the Ethiopian orthodox church, shortly
after, he became a family man, with a beautiful wife and 3 beautiful
children. His love for music started to increase while going through
different stages in life, and believing the way to communicate to the
world with love & peace is through music.
As his fascination with music started to increase in his life, Natty
Royal started hanging around other local artist and musicians, writing
his own music and buying instruments and learning how to play in his
spare time. One of the most distinctive things about Natty Royal’s
music is that he speaks what's on his mind and his message is crystal
clear; his impassioned pleas for justice for the poor and oppressed are
relevant in these crucial times.
