This weekend we participated at a contest festival, Moisekatsi Elohelü (sound of life), where we won special prize and an opportunity to give a show at Viljandi Folk Music Festival. We put our performance video up to youtube, check them out. The tune called Noor ja Illos tütarlaps (young and beautiful girl), is old folk song from Southern Estonia and it was a mandatory tune that all the participants had to arrange. The song is about a beautiful girl whose parents died and she walking all alone in the woods, with nothing to eat and drink. Then he turns to God, and asks, what should se do. God tells her to go up to the mountain, where she will find white dress which is made of white bird feathers and which turns her in to a quiet little white bird....
