By the time she got to high school, others started taking notice also. If asked people will say that Kim is a very jovial young lady who is always trying to bring out the best in the people around her. Kim is always entertaining and with the help of her music teacher, she starting performing with the school choir, her first accomplishment was winning a gold medal for performing the hit single Reflections by Jah Cure.

With that boost of confidence Kym started entering a lot of school competitions that proved successful. Kym with the guidance of her Music teach and Brother Ryan Hamilton started entering competitions like magnum kings and queens, Jamaica Rising Stars and Tastee talent shows.
