Active since 2002, Led Astray from Utrecht create their own sound between death and thrash metal. Currently working on a full length to follow-up their debut mcd/demo "Denying The Inevitable\&qu Having played in a metal band before, Martijn Pouw and Rogier Vogelij decided to form a new, more serious, death metal band. A lot of riffs had been written and parts of older songs reformed. An advertisement for a drummer, bassplayer and vocalist was placed in amongst others the dutch metal magazine Aardschok. Shortly hereafter a drummer was found in Jona Rovers, who had previous been playing for a band called Depredation. The three started jamming enthusiastically and the search for the remaining bandmembers continued. Soon a vocalist and bassplayer were found: respectively in the person of Melvin Buskermolen, who had previously been drumming in a band called Obscenery, and Yorick van Steenis, also playing in the local black metal band INRI, now Deleterious.

With a complete line-up they started writing and rehearsing songs. The musical style can be described as something between brutal, technical and melodic death metal and new-school thrash. After having finished some five tracks, a first gig was performed on the 30th of May, 2003 with Inri, so Yorick playing twice, and The Embodiment.
