About Loretta Callens

My love is singing, songwriting, playing my instruments and performing in the hope of enriching the lives of others. Plus I enjoy making music a lot!!

“Zinger” a six string, “Sweet Baby” a 12 string “Little Boy Blue” a mandolin and “Big Yama” a piano keyboard are my instruments.

My journey through music began at the early age of 6. Singing at church, in school choir and at special events. Over time I learned to play guitar, mandolin and piano.

I was blessed with music loving parents with beautiful voices who cultivated my love of music by making sure I had plenty of exposure to it.

“Female Artist of the Year” in Folk/Americana from The Josie Music Awards 2018. The Josie Music Awards was held in Pigeon Forge, TN at the Celebrity Theater in Dollywood.

Nominated by East Texas Performing Arts for a Texas Sounds International Country Music Award 2016.

Aside from performing and songwriting, I have produced nineteen outdoor music festivals in the Tyler area.

Co-founded and co-produced, with Lisa Byrn, the 2009 and 2010 Texas Independent Music Expo held in Dallas, TX.

Other music related task: MC and stage manager.

Presently I perform solo or as a duo with award winning recording artist, Sheila Clark, as “Callens & Clark” at wineries, pubs, restaurants, festivals, private events, retirement/nursing centers in the east and central Texas areas.
