Dear friends, beg you to have patience. Unfortunately my health is not good: from some years I suffer from an illness to the eyes called glaucoma and risk to become blind. For this motive I don't write anymore by now music. I send a regard to everybody.

Unfortunately in Italy we are experiencing a truly terrible situation of democratic emergency, and I no longer have the serenity and availability to take care of music. Hello everybody.

Nuages for string quartet. Serena Chien: 1 violin; Elena Chien: 2 violin; Dario Carbone: viola; Luigi Galizzi: cello. The recording is not perfect, but for me it is already a great result. In the future we will do better.

Here in Italy the situation is dramatic. In my city, Verona, the streets are deserted. The whole population is in quarantine; every day the infections increase and the deaths increase. Pray for us. Thank you.

The sound material is good, but the instrumentation would be impossible to deal with for a real orchestra.

I copied the ouverture from Giuseppe Verdi's opera Attila in my music writing software and created a version with synthetic instruments. A tribute to the greatest Italian musical genius of the nineteenth century.

The Symphony calls "Hellenic" because it is an imaginary description of the islands in the Aegean sea. In the second movement the wind of the east brings a frigius theme exposed by the first violin and then for the winds. Toward the
end, from the fund of forest the flute of the God Pan is heard that it plays again in the silence of the twilight. In the Intermezzo there is the trip toward the Islands Cicladi it dipped in the light of midday. In the fourth movement he reaches Santorini where to a typical folk theme is listened exposed by the winds together with the buzuky. Very difficult the parts of the woodwinds and the brasses; the symphony won't be to ever populate because of the complexity of a good execution, but it works well musically even if the style is absolutely traditional. Written in a difficult moment of my life, it is a sort of ideal trip toward beaches milder.

From the misty horizon of the sea, appears in distance a ship of pirates. It slips among the tumultuous waves, and slowly it gets to the dawning sun from the sea.

In my youth, when I had my first car, I made long journeys into the mountains to the north of my city. Many years later, this Symphony # 2 was the result of those excursions.
