About MallaVooDoo

The band MallaVooDoo started in 1996 and since then, is on a constant search for new paths in contemporary intrumental music. Along the years, the band has played in many events, such as the Winter Festival - Garanhuns, Instrumental in Concert - Recife and countless jazz gigs throughout its hometown (Recife - Brazil). The affinity among the musicians is, no doubt, one of the most relevant aspects of MallaVooDoo's work, which yields the commitment to freedom of creation without labels or fronteers.

The results of the band's journey is documented in two CDs. In 2001, the first CD, "O Inverno e a Garça", was welcomed by critics and public. "Soma", their new CD, had its official release concert at the Conservatory of Music - Pernambuco, in nov/2006. As in the first CD, all compositions where written, arranged and performed by the band. Both CDs where produced by Thales Silveira and financed through a government program called Sistema de Incentivo à Cultura - Prefeitura da Cidade do Recife (Public Cultural Support - City Hall).
