Interesting vocal and and quite a cheerful music with a not so cheerful story. I am sort of getting a smiths type feel and if I were to record this I would have a deep bass playing the the route of the cord on each change. and double track the walking bass line .You have all the ingredients of a good song. The recording seems to have lots of high frequency and I would like to hear the drums and bass a little more on the other side of the sound spectrum . When I saw the title of this song "The real thing" I thought hay wow these guys are going to rework a commercial for coca cola! you probably missed this so search COCA-COLA hilltop "I'd like to buy the world a coke" on youtube Now when you look at the many faces of Duncan what might first come to mind is would I trust these guys to sell me some real estate or maybe is this my next barrister or lawyer. But what it looks like and what it sounds like are two different things. hmm "so as they sing so many things to put right now but now its too late" i'm going to go with the barrister idea and one member of the band is in jail or if an estate agent a couple has moved into the house only to find the plumbing leaking this sung over a 60s style sounding garage band. One of the things I enjoy most about Number One Music artists is the newfound ability to hear music from around the world by singers who I'd never have the chance to listen to otherwise. That, in itself, is a great thing. Here, with this song we're getting a super pop-y type of song, not really electronica as it's labeled here. Sounds super British - which has a nice throwback feeling to the Beatles back in the 60's.
