About Marc Chauvette
Marc started working the circuit in 1976 at the age of 17. His first paying gig was at a biker bar in Watertown NY (then known as Jammer's Tavern) with half-brother Robin Davis where he played keyboards, guitar, lead vocals, and wrote original music for the popular upstate NY group "Wirlwind". During this period, he turned down an audition in NYC as a guitarist with the king of the twist "Chubby Checker".
He later joined up with the 8-piece horn band "Contraband" and toured Florida with the group in the late 1970's. While with "Wirlwind" and "Contraband" he shared the stage with such other acts as "Blue Oyster Cult", "Chubby Checker", "Benny Mardones", and "Leslie West" of "Mountain". "Contraband" returned to upstate NY in 1981 where the group disbanded, and a new "Wirlwind" band was formed. Wirwind disbanded in 1989.
Marc became interested in electronic music composition as a hobby. He later teamed up with Bob Watts to form "Chauvette and Watts" who would later become a staple in resort entertainment in the Thousand Islands in upstate NY. It was there that he would first meet "The Scintas", who were already legends in the Alex Bay region. At this time, Frankie Scinta told Chauvette "If we ever make it big in this business, we're going to give you a call". Marc was flattered but thought nothing would ever become of that. Chauvette was asked to join up with "The Scintas" in Las Vegas, Nevada in December of 2000, where he currently resides.
In March of 2005, Chauvette caught up with Michael Mustizer, an aspiring film director/producer from the East coast. Chauvette, hoping to land a movie composing/scoring deal, agreed to score the orchestral music for a full-length action/ adventure feature called "The Coldest Winter." He spent an entire year with trial and error mixes and re-writes. Finally in January of 2006, the film was released to be viewed at several indie film festivals and would pick up the Hollywood DV Film Festival's "Best Action/Adventure Feature Film" award, and the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival's "Best Action/Adventure Feature Film" award as well.
Also in the works in 2007 were tracks for the HARPO Sounds Catalog in Chicago. Chauvette's instrumental composition "Osia Con Intensita" was added recently to the catalog for future production considerations.
Currently working on a vintage 70's styled progressive rock project with new band put together called "Swordfish Museum". An 8-cut compilation called "Rotate Counter Clockwise" is due for release this year.
