Lovely vibe, tripping down the road, feeling groovy with this song about love without a clue. Your vocal talent of Neil Diamond and his song "Rambling Rose." A tribute song to 'true love' and how lovers pour out themselves for each other to help each other live their dreams married in soul and spirit. Never far away, only whisper your name and the loved one draws near. A Song of Universal Sentiments for those who have loved and been faithful to the loved one, whether they are by their side or have passed over to the other side, but ever present. Acoustic & Guitar instrumental are perfect complements to setting the tempo for this special melody. I really enjoyed the song and the journey it took me on.

Unique Country rock song with great lyrics.

Great guitar riff, nice beat, Matt has a nice warm country voice and this tune is very catchy. If Springsteen and Conway Twitty had a baby it would be this song. A touch of rock makes this song unique. Nice guitar solo.

Heartfelt lyrics and sentiments powerfully delivered over some well produced guitar work. The acoustic section sound is reminiscent of the Beatles Norwegian Wood and at times Matt's vocals enters a similar soundscape to the Tragically Hip. The chorus has a tremendous hook and I found myself singing along with the track after a couple of listens. Very professional take and a beautifully constructed tune. Excellent song and I will be listening out for more from the Italy based singer songwriter.

'By My Side' A review. By David A Skene.

This track catches you instantly with an hypnotising drum pattern. There's a depth to the lyrics that hints at a Bob Dylan influence. There's a country rock feel in places but also sounds like Bruce Springsteen because of the strong gravelly vocal.Yet somehow i'm hearing Neil Diamond too. I like the baseline very much and the guitar work is solid Good track overall. 4 stars easily.

I really like your voice and the lyrics. There is also a nice hook in the melody that stays in My mind. It seems to me that you have a lot of studio hours on those guitar arrangement. And that pays off very well. Good job. Con gratulations!

By My Side review

This is a soft travelling rock feel song. Vocals are clear. I believe the instruments are a little cluttered...cymbals seem a bit much for clarity. Be interesting to hear a clear straight punchy mix. Its not a hard song vocally to sing but well delivered. Possibly could have try to play vocally with your range a little more but its a tidy track and well worth a listen.

Muffled Lyrics

A very well produced song. I'm a folk singer so the lyrics to me are everything. The music doesn't need to be great or the singing, it's just about the message for me after all, Dylan wasn't the best singer in the world but his lyrics made him great. I really don't know if these lyrics were good or not the vocalist has a very cool and unique voice but to me, the words were muffled and I was unable to understand half of them. The music was well performed but think it over powered the vocals. I would have liked to hear this song stripped down to an acoustic version because I think it has the potential to be great. Just my opinion Matt. All in all a very good song~

Punchy chorus

This is just a great track, Mr. Cressey. The entire mix pops really nice through my speakers, and the panning of the different instruments is really good. Your voice and the way it is sung goes hand in hand with the flow in the music, and I really enjoy the guitars in this track. Steady on, soldier. This is a great tune :-) Cheers

A sad song indeed!

Although it starts with some unspectular country style guitar tunes, the song evolves into a truly sad one with the long and emotional chorus part. I must admit that I got caught by the second one. I needed the first half of the song to understand the structure. I particularly like the crunchy guitar licks in the chorus. These wide and open tunes perfectly create an atmosphere of loss and sadness. The end of the song is surprisingly short, but I think the chorus is too long to be repeated once again, and I think it's good not to do it since it has already created the desired emotional effect. Very well done.

LOVE THE PRODUCTION ON THIS TRACK LOVELY ACCOUSTIC WITH NICE CRUNCHY ELECTRICS GUITARS WHEN THEY KICKI IN, THE DRUM SOUND IS TO DIE FOR, MATT SEEMS TO HAVE SIMILAR PHRASING OF NEIL DIAMOND. ALL IN ALL GREAT SONG AND COVERALL SOUND

There's a whole lot of meat on this bone...

Matt Cressey brings us Be My Side (Full Version) which is a power ballad in the vein of early Bruce Springsteen in that it is a yarn about life and not just a poem or poetry set to music. From a listener's perspective the song is memory invoking and that's all that needs to be said. From a producer's perspective I think the vocal could have stood a tad more compression and a little more reverb or reflective effect to lessen the dryness. Other than that it is a quality effort.

Top chorus

It is difficult to write a good song in 3/4 time, but this one, especially the chorus is fantastic. I can hear that it was a little more troublesome to compose the verses. Anyway a job well done.

Nice floating feeling...

It's really amusing to listen to this song. My first impression was bit more country style, which then turned in that alternative accoustic Rock thing. Musically tight performances and all in all a professional production. Should not be overheard and taken as candy for the ear. Really nice songwriting and all in all a really good piece of work! It makes curious of what comes next...

By my side by Matt Cressey is quite refreshing! By my side hints of Bob Dylan and Tom waits blended w/ hard rock, has its own style. The guitar transforms from folksy, almost country, to the brash overdriven sound of modern rock then back to its folksy roots ending with a mellow fade. All the instruments are in synch with each other and they all flow together. I really enjoyed listening to By My Side and will be looking forward to more music from Matt Cressey. - CS
