Matthew Woodward is an original and collaborative songwriter, guitarist, singer currently based in Las Vegas, NV link a writer and performer with country music artist Dez Hoston, Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. Tulsa, OK has always been a musical melting pot, known as the "Tulsa Sound", as the best musicians from that area are known to put their own spin on their musical influences as opposed to directly mirroring them, which is encouraged. One pioneer of this sound would be link, whose songs went on to be embraced by the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Eric Clapton. Matthew is no exception to this philosophy, and even was hired by ex Clapton Tulsa Drummer Jamie Oldaker to play in his band after he retired from Eric Clapton. Whether within Matthew's original compositions or collaborations with others, the influences are there, but not obvious, the sound is familiar but not overtly derivative, comfortable yet new. Matthew leaves enough space in his music to allow his fans find their own voice within each composition, and creates lyrics with a broad enough scope for listeners to find their own meaning, The instrumental parts will coerce your body to move, all while creating the atmosphere that you are hearing something that you have always known but never been able to experience until ultimately finding it within his songs.
