Lovely Sax Led Groove Song
Mekiel Reuben is an accomplished saxophonist, this time expressing the sweet melody on his soprano saxophone. In recent generations we have become accustomed to the familiar sound of successful instrumentalist Kenny G whose signature sound is quickly identified. But the warm and soulful sound of Mekiel's sax is, in it's own way a signature you'll want to remember. Phrases that move you are plentiful. The visual is aptly described by the title as this is quite an uplifting tune, and the mind brings a smile from the emotion of optimism. A nice funky bassline, confident drummer and and stylistically on point guitarist all contribute to holding down the foundation for the groovy atmosphere. Vocals are used to color the production as opposed to leading the song in lyric driven tracks. There are other elements of production that are kept low in the mix including horn punches and lines. The artist and producer succeeded in creating an aural combination of sound that compliment one another and when blended, become this feel good taste. Celebrating a lovely day in a nice and funky way!

Mekeil's sax playing is Sweetly Distinctive with each note that he plays. Lovely Day is a superb song to show the mastery of his craft as he moves the song with artful playing. I'm taken to my happy place by an artist whose pleasureful playing has satisfied his audience....Wait!! I would LOVE to hear more! Thank you!!

Man oh man, just hear and feel the Tempo of this Rendition! Most artist that produce a Remix of a Classic don't do the type of Justice that this cat Mekiel Reuben (and Band) has done. This is a track that should make it's way into your music library! It's certainly one that I, personally, would play (REAL LOUD) as I travel along I-10 from Cali to GA. Beautifully Done
This a very good rendition of this well known jazz song. It falls within the style of smooth jazz. It shows that the arranger really feels the spirit of the song. The improvisation definitely could be improved, that's the only thing that could be worked on. Other than that, Awesome Job!

perfect rendition
Very seldom does an instrumental follows the lead vocals so flawlessly, Bill Withers is one of my favorite singers and Mekiel Reuben in this song took over his lyrics and made them his own. Most times instrumentals run away with leads, but not this time, staying in pocket until it's time to break out isn't easy, way to go Mekiel. Blessings.

Very lovely done
This is a good song for this instrument and the person playing it. I like the transition of the music but never loosing what the song is. All musicians know how to play together. Good Stuf

Lovely Day
Well crafted rendition of a popular tune. All seems to work very well as the mix is solid and well presented. The backing vocals only enhance a smoking sax. Objectively, I would not have wasted all that energy on a cover song...let us hear some original efforts which would pose a better reflection of your musical prowess and creativity. After all, it sounds like the potential is there to compile a very marketable/profitable project. Bring on the really good stuff...your own music!

Lovely Day Review
Very Lovely indeed, quite mood altering and smooth. Excellent horn skills. Top Notch quality and nice sway to it. Makes such a happy song so comforting and music is riveting and sharply done with horn solo rise and changes are right on point. Love It! AWESOME!

good mix
Havent really heard to many artist from Los Angeles on this site. Being that Mekiel is the the first for review for me, on this site I can say I enjoyed the mix. The musicianship, when comes to smooth jazz. Looking forward to hearing more stuff from this man, coming from a city with a lot of competition. My words to you Mekiel, stay focused my brother.
