Well not long to the CD release party/gig - 16th of March if any of you are around in Wellington (Embassy Theatre, 2pm) :-)
An interesting thing I have come across while trying to promote the album is that a few places I have approached were not interested unless I could prove I had a following of interested people.
Seemed a bit of a catch 22 to me...
Anyway, a measure that is the number of likes I have on Facebook.
My request is this:

If any of you are around - I am having a wee release party at the Embassy Theatre, 16th March, 2pm - Wellington, New Zealand.

I am very excited to let you know that WIDE AWAKE AND HIGHLY STRUNG has finally been released.
Lying on my lounge floor is a couple of boxes of pretty flash looking CDs. I am really chuffed that it is all done and I am pretty proud of the result.
Now the promotion starts...
If you are at all interested in owning a physical copy of the CD, please message me with your email address and physical address and I can send you a paypal invoice. Or you can download a copy, currently from Bandcamp (this can be found via (expired link)).
It's cheap as chips - $10 NZ for a digital copy or $20 NZ plus p&p for a hard copy.

Well, excitingly and oddly surprisingly, the album is finished. All mixed and mastered and ready to press. It's a strange feeling as it has been in the making for what seems like a lifetime.

As a wee treat I have uploaded a new song that you won't have heard before - I won't rescue you.

Hope this finds you well and happy.

Wow - it is the end of another year - how did that happen. I swear as I get older the time seems to fly away....

Well the album, which seems to be having a longer gestation period than an elephant, should hopefully be released next year, hopefully. Then I will be able to put some new music on the site. It has been a frustrating process. The original mix and master sounded really bad, and in all honesty, could not be released as it was. This is my first (and maybe only) album and I want to be proud of it and not cringe when I listen to it in 5 years time. So it is currently being remixed in Chile - isn't the internet wonderful. There is still 3 or so songs to go, things tend to slow down around Christmas.
My apologies if you have heard this before - not much has been happening....

Oh yeah, have shot a new video to be released with the album, Melt. It is a bit different from my other videos. Shot by Reece Baker from Green Lemon Pictures who shot my other two.
Seeing as it is a love song I had wanted a couple to provide 'intimate' movement. I was looking for dancers initially. While I was thinking out loud, the student I was working with said she and her new husband would be able to do that. Skeptical as I was, I still got a couple of dancers.
While we were shooting them i left as it was all a bit awkward and i was beginning to worry that it may not work out. When I came back about 10 minutes later it was a completely different vibe. I felt that I was intruding on some thing very personal.
Anyhoo, it has cut together really well and I can't wait to release it.

So much for not having much to say, aye

I was wanting to put some new music up but I am currently unable. Apparently I can only have 10 songs up at a time (strange since I have a few more than that at the moment).
I plan to delete some songs and replace them with some new ones.

So, I s'pose if you really like a song you may want to download it as it may not remain on my profile.

I think at the moment all my music is free to download - so go for it with my blessing :-)

I hope to put some new songs up in a month.

Let me know if you are having any trouble or if there is a particular song you like I can email you the mp3.

I am stoked and humbled to have reached 1400 subscribers - thank you for your interest in my music and your support - it really is appreciated.

The album is nearly finished. CD release is 30 June at the Embassy Theatre, Wellington, NZ if any of you would like to come.
I have posted a couple of songs on Bandcamp from the album so you can have a taster of how things are sounding.

Well, the final 2 songs have been recorded and Nic and I have booked to fly up to Hamilton to mix it in March.
Exciting!
So I am hoping the album will be out around May....
It is sounding good and I am really proud of it. I never thought I would actually get a 10 song album out.
So hopefully soon there will be some new songs for you all to listen to :-)
