About Moira

Moira is a Colombian traditional heavy metal band, formed in 2004 by Jorge Restrepo and Hector Duran. It's heavily influenced by the NWOBHM, North American thrash and South American Moira is a traditional heavy metal band, influenced by the South American heavy metal movement of the early 80's, NWOBHM and thrash metal. It's main goal is to deal with the tragic contradictions that rule Latinamerican men, produced by vile and foreign enemies, such as Judeochristianity.

The band was founded by Hector Duran Henao (voice) and Jorge Restrepo Ramos (bass), together with Andres Nino Morales (drums) and Manuel Ramos Castillo (guitar). This original line up made the band's first concerts and recorded its only studio production so far (Condena Eterna/Cruzando el Paramo [Demo]), a faithful testimony of the traditional sound the band had back then, a sound that you can still hear today.

Around June 2006, Hector Duran left the band in friendly terms, due to professional reasons. He was replaced by Jaime Fuya Fajardo.

With an extense song repertoire 2007 will certainly be a deffinitive year for Moira. Many live shows are coming up, as well as recordings of pure and proud heavy metal.
