Darnell Green, (Born July 18, 1987), better known by his stage name “Money”, is an American rap artist. Darnell began recording music in at SBC (Shreveport-Bossier Connection) which at the time was owned by Slick Rick and later became Bozz City Records with Eric Frantom at the helm, at the young age of 11 using the name “Young Money”.
The start
In 1998 Darnell formed the group “Young Drama Boyz” with two of his longtime friends Crucial and Code Lane, which later became “Camouflage Soldiers”. Following the release of the group’s first Album “In a World of Fatigue”, Young Money garnered a lot of attention and success. Their first hit single “Get Ya Knees Low” garnered regular radio rotation. There are always pitfalls to being successful as Darnell soon found out. Although Young Money was extremely talented and had found success, what he didn’t know was the business aspects of the industry and due to that his music never became published nor was it ever copyrighted. Although he performed over ninety shows due to him not having the music copyrighted, he was unable to receive any royalties.
