About Morgue
Formed in 2005, the band Morgue naturally chose a path of a nameless extreme music. It was Maimed, Goliatt and Iron who first joined forces. It was then, when Matrak (Chasse Galerie, Mêlée des Aurores) and Idrys (Daedalean Complex) who respectively played bass guitar and percussions, when was recorded the first eponym demo, in 2007, at EJ Studios in Quebec City. Not long after, Nail got behind the drum and Matrak left. However, when Funeste joined as the new bassist player, Morgue started to play it's first gigs. The DVD "Incinerate the Crucified" (2008) was moreover filmed at one of those venues.
It was in 2010, after Panzer replaced Nail that was recorded the band's first album "Flames and Blood" at Franky Blastbeat Studios in Quebec city. Local reviewers applaused Morgue for the album and Marc Lavoie from well known local metal team Capitale du Metal joined forces with the band as manager.
In 2011, after a regional tour, Morgue decided to work once again with François C. Fortin at Frank Blastbeat Studios for their second full length. A new bass player, Haze (Soiled by Blood), was chosen to replace Funeste sooner in t
