On March the 12th, Mick Hinchcliffe finished a delivery of Steel at work and went back to the Depot feeling very unwell . He told Staff he was feeling very run down all of a sudden and had had a dizzy spell driving and could not do any more deliveries and was needing medical assistance. He walked out to his car and collapsed, he rang 000 and an Ambulance took him to hospital. Mick was diagnosed with a debilitating virus and he was admitted to ICU and placed on life support for 9 days after heart failure and his major organs were shutting down. He is a Fighter ,he is being transferred to Townsville hospital to undergo Heart surgery and more tests. Mick could only find part time work for 2 years as he was overcoming Skin Cancer traveling long distances for treatment and then rest after surgery and he has now beaten the cancer. Mick had just been given permanent work 3 weeks ago which he was so excited about. His Place of employment has stated he can have his job once he is fit for work but at present, he is in a very financially vulnerable situation from his previous battle with skin cancer now this major health situation which will lead to many months of rehabilitation before he will be able to return to work . Mick is a Son, a Brother , a Father, a Partner, a Musician, playing the Drums and Singing for decades . He was at a music festival in earlier years when Chad Morgan's Drummer could not make it to play and he jumped up on stage and drummed for Chad . He is so proud of that . He supports many Charities around Mackay and district . Mick will have turned 57 when many read this . We , Mick's Family and Mates really do know how hard times are and we are doing our best to help also.
