About Nadir

The band was formed as Dark Clouds way back in 1993 and was dedicated to gloomy doom/death metal from day one. We released our debut demo Requiem for a Helpless World in 1996 and after a couple of further studio recordings we played all across Hungary regularly. Dark Clouds has made an EP and two full-length albums before we changed the name of the band to Nadir, after the title of our first CD. Nadir brought out seven albums, one cover album - with our versions of songs from bands which are not extensively popular but really important for us -, two EPs and three split EPs with other local bands. We won Hungarian musical polls in different categories on several occasions, played at the most prestigious local festivals, and opened for bands like Crowbar, Pro-Pain, (expired link)., Master, Vader, Krisiun, Kataklysm, Napalm Death, Dying Fetus, Prong, Entombed, Dead Congregation or Mearuder.
