About Nancita Kapi

Nancita grew up travelling the world. At the age 5, she left with her family to live in Burkina Faso, where she stayed for 3 years and then moved to Vienna Austria, where she developed her love and passion for music. She started out at the age of 11, with teacher Elizabeth Spitzer, who gave her a lot of inspiration in pursuing her love and dreams for music.
At the age of 12,she realized that her love for music was rooted in her heart and soul and at that moment she knew she wanted to do something that involved music, namely being a singer.
At the age of 13, she moved with her parents and sieblings to Canada, so during her High School years, she joined the school's choir and her local church's choir as well. The Choir experience enabled her to take part in conventions, conferences, events, competitions ,concerts and has been helpful in the development of her voice.
Nancita has also been a participant in talent shows at school, whether it involved singing or dance performances, she found a way to enjoy herself and at the same time share her gift with the public. She had her vocal and ear training directed by music teachers, artists and choir leaders in order to better her gift and another gift her mother believes she has is; the writing of songs. She started the writing and composition of songs, when she was 16 years old and whenever God inspires her to write, she writes. It is a tool she uses to express herself.
In the Spring of 2007, one of her former co-workers gave her the proposition to record a few tracks and that is how it all (expired link) then introduced her to Peg from Dafusion records, with whom she kept working on different songs and tracks in his basement studio,in order to start working on a single to be released that same summer, but fortunately God had more in store and something else came along the (expired link) took a break from the studio and kept writing songs, working and kept focusing on her studies at Carleton University.

Nancita was introduced to YBM productions through a friend who wanted to record a song with her later that summer, that is where she went early in the winter of 2008 and started recording songs to release an Ep. A total of 7 songs were recorded, but Nancita felt something was missing and was not totally satisfied, so she decided to put more work into it. She graduated in December 2007 and just kept working and taking vocal lessons. So in the summer of 2008, She knew the timing was right so she decided to work with people directly in her entourage. She kept writing songs and opted to work with XXTemple Production and BODB Entertainment to record her debut album.
Nancita has opened for Jade, Carimi and Marvin and has shared the stage with Jeff Kavanda, Jamice and Iron-G.

Nancita is always ready for more and is now ready to let God guide her musically, so that others will understand the testimony of her stories. For She is Young, sincere and determined and notice that there is a message behind the melodies she sings.
