"A Wonderland Christmas" is really Wonderful

Everybody knows that Nashville Recording Artist Mike Bryant is really a great Country Music songwriter. However, this time he's really outdone himself with his new holiday classic "A Wonderland Christmas". From the opening line Mike establishes the mood and sets the tone for a wonderful trip to a truly beautiful place. A place that exists only in the hearts of true believers and the hearts of those who long to believe. A place where everyone believes in Santa Claus and that reindeer can actually fly through the sky. A place of peace, harmony, and love are the standard fare of the day everyday. When I listened to this song I felt a gentle peace come over me and I longed for the Christmases of my youth back in the 1960's when I didn't have a care in the world and I just knew that everything was gonna be alright. I could almost sense that Grandma was still there in the kitchen making strawberry jam and the chocolate chip cookies were almost ready. The rich aroma wafting up the stairs. This song makes you want to still believe in Santa Claus...and that reindeer can fly.

yes

A Wonderland Christmas review. this song is a strictly Rock piece in the highest sense of the word. everything sounds in Rock style as I said everything recalls the Rock genre. personally it is not my favorite genre but I can give you a musical judgment that is certainly positive because all that there must be in a Rock piece in your piece is therefore complimented and continues. good job

In MY Opinion

Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the background music. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. Made me want to hear the complete song. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny

It’s never too early for Christmas!

I have a confession to make. It’s still October and I’m jamming to Christmas music. It’s even better when it’s no the same old repeated stuff they play every year, but ones by underground unsigned artists who aren’t recognised. If that were me, i’d put that right on a Christmas playlist! We need more people to write new and fresh Christmas songs, start a new generation of Christmas songs! So glad I stumbled on this! Keep going, your future is bright.

VERY GOOD INSTRUMENTAL START

Instruments start this tune with a very warm lead right into the vocals message is strong and perfect harmony blend all of song together for a nice effect . The melody adds to the song and everything is smooth and on time, I would recommend this tune as a nice tune for Christmas time to set back and enjoy.Everything is professionally preformed and mixed so the vocals can be heard. That time and go listen. .

Christmas Song

Okay it's a Christmas Song but that doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be filled up with cliche. The tempo of the song is definitely too low, it drags and drags and it really took me some efforts listening till the end without falling asleep. Overall the song feels a bit dated. Sorry - I'm probably not the right listener for this song, but maybe it's right for people of a certain age.

A Wonderful Christmas

Hi Mike. The music for this song is nice, but it doesn't sound very Christmasy. It sounds more like a melody that would best suit a reminiscing somber (sad) kind of a song. I do like the tone of your voice, but quite often it fell a bit flat. I do like the words; they do tell a great story. I do think that there are some good bones to the song; maybe try to re-work it at a faster speed. Play around with it; maybe throw in some jingle bells - like horses running down a country lane. Keep writing my friend. Blessings, Trev :)

Review by Mike

After listening to the song title "A Wonderland Christimas" I had mixed reactions to it. First, I thought the lyrics were outstanding and it really captured the assent of what Christmas really is. Secondly, I thought the tempo of the song should have been more upbeat and cheerful as the song had a more depressing sense and feeling. Also, the music arrangement seemed alright, but was missing something that I couldn't put my finger on. Overall, I would give it a passing grade.

Nice lyrics!

Hi I really enjoyed the storyline on this song. It is my opinion that it would have a better effect if the tempo was a bit faster. It sounds like a sad song musically. Maybe adding some Christmas bells on the choruses would help give it a "happy" feeling also. The vocals are nice, in the pocket with the music. It's a well written lyric, I just here it moving a bit faster. Merry Christmas Mike!

Christmas

A heartfelt traditional Christmas song, this features a Spanish guitar and dobro on top of acoustic. It's a dreamy tune about yesteryear and traditions past. A few awkward lyrics but overall this sounds pretty good. I like the solos and the production. The bridge brings in a new phrase about how the singer goes there in their dreams. This might have been brought in sooner as a "climb" section to let you know what the singers point of view is.

A Wonderland Christmas

Song Has Potential, Nice Musical Arrangement But Vocally Slow Paced. I Would Speed Up The Tune A Little As It Tends To Drag Occasionally And Needs A Little Pick Me Up To Appeal To The Masses! Nice Musical Lyrics Trying To Connect Todays Christmas To Our Childhood Memories Growing Up In America Where The Snow Falls, Everyone Can Relate! Song Would Also Be Very Nice With A Female Lead Vocal With Male Or Female Backup Vocals. Keep Up The Good Songwriting! Johnny "O"
