I created my first music video @ https://youtu.be/29c7KKz5HL8 My goal in life is to push my limits to the point that my lyricism and the stories I can tell are beyond that of every legendary artist. I want the poetry in my rhymes to be greater than the greatest poets. I want my delivery and flow to sound better than every mainstream artist combined. Then I want to build a team of artists with positive, conscious, creative, poetic messages in their music to be on the same level. I want there to be so many of these artists and for their music to sound so good that nobody on this planet ever dares to say these artists that don't care about the culture are Hip Hop. Last month was a good month for me. I created the song "Black Man", which was about black men being stereotyped by this country. I decided to use pictures from creative commons for this one and it helped with the emotional factor and sharing my vision. I originally wrote this song in 2009. I had an idea for a music video before I started to write it, but never had the money to make the video. I wanted the video to show 2 different versions of black men. 1 was the way we see ourselves and the other was the way the world sees us. I also wrote a review for the song where I explain the meaning behind the lyrics. It is long, but I think you will find it to be quite amazing. I rewrote my bio last month. It is a lot better than it previously was. You can read it on www.nephibis.com. Some people were saying I shouldn't mention that I became depressed over my ex cheating on me. Ultimately I decided to keep it, because some people were inspired by it and the people who gave me reasons as to why I should change it mainly mentioned things such as brand, people taking me seriously and people being into my business. I don't want to live my life running from the judgement of others. I will never be able to get anywhere other than misery if I make my choices based on what others may think about me. Ultimately if you are doing something that will bring you to success then it will be something that many people disagree with you about. Since my goal as an artist is to speak for those who are bullied and outcasts then it would be safe to assume that disagreement is likely to be in the majority for me. I got irked last month over this twitter debate. Everyone was so concentrated on artists getting recognition they missed my point in that Hip Hop is represented by Entertainers whose motives are purely financially based rather than artists who care about the culture itself. There should be a separation in how artists are labeled based on their motives when making music. I hate how whenever someone brings up Hip Hop it is always some artist that talks about the generic self-destructive things, but rarely does anyone outside of the Hip Hop community bring up people with a positive message.
