This tune has a haunting mood put across very well by the keys and guitar. I really like the vocal which is very expressive of the mood of the song. Most haunting thing in the song in addition to the instruments is the line about feeling the pain of sons and daughters trying to make it in the world.....as Billy Corgan and Smashing Pumpkins put it so aptly "the world is a vampire".

NOT WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT LOTS OF SYNTH AND PIANO IN WHAT IS ESSENTIALLY A BALLAD THE PIANO CHORDS IN THIS SONG SOUND GREAT BUT I KEPT HOPING THERE WOULD BE A CHANGE TO A BRIDGE OR MIDDLE EIGHT BUT ALAS NO CHANGES THROUGH OUT THE WHOLE SONG OKAY THERE ARE RANDOM SOLOS GOING ON AT VARIOUS PARTS WHICH ARE WELL PLAYED BUT REALLY APPROACHING FOUR MINUTES WITHOUT A CHANGE IS A BIT TOO LONG AND BORDERING ON REPETITION

The beginning of this song is unusual, in a good way! The piano riff, followed by the instruments - then to the lead vocals is just right, and leads right to the title of the song. Great movement. The lyrics/words are clever and make you think from jump, which tells you this song is more than just music with a good rhythm. I had to focus in on the words and let the music lead me along... This song is like a beautiful poem set to amazing music. The keys are great throughout, and carry the feeling and sound from beginning to end without letting you down. The short appearance of the guitar was nice, but way too little... This song could easily have had a short 8 or 12 bar solo that cried out to the next part of the song. It was a tease, and left me feeling "where'd the guitar go?" The arrangement of this song is spot on, and not much to improve upon, really. The harmonies/backup voices are sweet and add to the song's power. I think going out with a strong ending, with some high energy from the voice and the instruments would have take this song higher and higher. That being said, this song was a pure delight to take in.
