After leaving Nashville over frustrations with trying to deal with the controlling music executives there, Willie Nelson phoned from Texas to his friend Waylon Jennings still residing in Nashville and said: Hey Waylon, come back to Texas where we'll play OUR Kind Of Music". Thus was born the term, OKOM. Waylon took willie's request to heart and the two of them created outlaw country music.
