"ONE ROOT" wishes you a Merry Christmas in music
Soldiers of Love
The concept of the album is summarized in the song "Future of Mankind" in which One Root basically say that they feel deeply involved in the future of Mankind. To be consistent with the album's themes and also to improve on their arrangements, the band chose to rework four songs that were already featuring on the previous "Revelation" EP: "Mr Farmer", "Burn", "This World" and "Time Bomb".Except for "Leave Dem Alone", which is a Sunrockers "classic", all other songs were especially written for this album.
"Love and Education", placing the human being and his feelings at the centre of society, emphasizes on the two keys as solutions against a capitalistic Babylon, destroying our biosphere slowly but surely.
“Don’t Hurry” is a song about how we should all think twice before taking an important decision, without paying any attention to external pressures and always learning from our mistakes.
“Leave Dem Alone” is a cry for liberty to all freedom fighters and Rastafarians around the world.
“Burn” is a lament on the getto youth living under the pressure of Babylon’s hypocritical cynicism.
“Mr Farmer”, more than just another “Ganja Tune”, is also an advocacy for permaculture as the only alternative to the worldwide intensive monoculture model.
“No One” is about the ideological struggle and friendship on the still desert side of the frontline and also about the gift of Life and the symbolic rebirth we all have to experience.
“This World” is an obvious anti-racism anthem.
“Look through Time”, a song about living in a continuous present moment, also emphasizes the strange fact that we all think we are different consciences living in the same universe when it is exactly the opposite.
“Time Bomb” the inevitable civilisation decline Human being is facing if not addressing the absolute urgent threat represented by global warming (climate change).
Every sound is coming from a real instrument, no programming was done, no sample was added.
In a few years Matt I and Jay Dub who form the heart of the project, have become a real must in Benelux.
A complete show in Dub sound system style, and as a band accompanied by seven musicians, two singles with video clips, a self-produced EP and now a 10 tracks album called "Soldiers of Love”.
Nearly 100 concerts to their credit, both on small intimate scenes (for various militant associations) and on the main scenes of major festivals in Belgium and the Netherlands (ReggaeGeel – Belgium, Dour Festival – Belgium, Ab-concert Brussels – Belgium,
