Song Reviews

your song

Hello there Outfall, thank you so much for sending me the song for review! Wow, what a pretty song, those singing melodies from the start on are very, very ear catchy and that is exactly what I like the most when I listen to songs. This song sounds to me a hit, beautifully composed and mixed too, the guitars, the drums, bass, etc, very well balanced and I could hear to every detail inside the song, lovely song, keep that work up man, many greetings from Germany, Alfredo from King Mambo

This sounds like a really good song with a great composition and instrumentation including the arrangement. The songs displays the musicianship of the performing band members. I thought that the lead vocals were phasing but as I listened through the song I realised that maybe an effect was reverberating with the backing vocals. Nice use of effects. I also did like the guitar solo at the very end of the track that sounded very high energy. This isn't an uptempo song at all, more likeen a ballad type of vibes but this incorporates the full band . Great audio production.

Thoughts on Echos remaster...

Helpful

My first thoughts were, "this song is different!" - in a good way. I like the story lyrics about real people. That makes this song very special. I like the sound of the lead in instrument? This song is wonderful! Not too much to criticize... I like the short interludes between verses, and the chorus lines are perfect for the song. I think this song is unique and inspiring. The only suggestion I have is the whispering at the end should be a lil louder. Great song guys! Michael D'Aigle/fool4christ

Interesting Sound

Helpful

I like to use a critique format that was used at the Christian Musicians Summit, where Paul Baloche critiqued one of my songs (yes, the song needed a lot of work!). I much prefer to have the lyrics while I review, but here goes: 1. Does any of the text raise a red flag with regard to Christian Theology? I do not see any problems, although it seems to be more geared toward CCM. 2. Does this sound like another song? Is the lyrical content fresh? The song seems pretty unique to me. 3. Does it speak to the hearts of people? Can people relate to the lyrics? Yes, I think the descriptions in your verses are of everyday life people can relate to. 4. Can your average Joe/Jo sing this song? Not a worship song, so this one probably does not matter. 5. Does the song structure make sense (lyric form, chord progression, verse-chorus arrangement)? I think you have a V-C-V-C-V-C structure - pretty standard, so good. 6. What feels good about the song? The guitar particularly caught my attention, especially at the beginning. Almost Phil Keaggy-ish. Nice vocal harmony as well. 7. What feels "funny" (not ha-ha) about the song? - The verses seemed a bit long - Might be a little dated in the overall feel to the song All in all, I would say a good effort!

Outstanding Composition

Good evening to you and thank you for the invite to review another one of your great Classics "ECHOS" Which mat I say that I found your Composition in my own personal music to be Outstanding in every sense of the word starting with great vocals and harmonies with a strong message in the lyrics and lovely soft melody, your track was Produced and Recorded to a very Professional Standard and very Radio Friendly that would attract a great deal of Radio Airplay that would in return enhance your Royalty income and I really enjoyed this wonderful song and have played it many times, top marks all round well done.

It Takes you back to a good time and place

I love the smooth mellow melodic sound. The harmony is very good and really compliment the music style. The message is very good and straight from the heart, it's a reflection of God's love for the outcasts and reminds men of his duty to help his fellow man.. The guitar playing is very relaxing , with nice light lead guitar solo touches. The entire song is blended and balance really well. It takes you back to a good time and place where music was done well, great job!

Lots of good parts

Your song has many good elements, it is clearly thought out and has a good structure which helps engage the listener and keep them listening longer. Areas which could improve this track would be correcting a few minor timing issues, adjusting the level of effects on the vocal as they overpower the vocal a bit and also shortening the introduction section. Other than this i think you have done a really good solid job and I think its headed in the right direction.

I like the lyrics! I can feel the heart in this showing you put in some dedicated work. I like the originality!!! Sounds like the studio vibe was feeling the vibe I could sit back to this one and zone out!!!!! More artist should study the roots of their culture of art more to be better at their own art. Keep up the good work and stay in the lab creating new material to stay fresh and on your toes. Peace!

Sounds to subdued....what I mean is to much compression maybe.....Of Corse I don't know if you use compression or not. Maybe its me but I just like to hear the instruments not so muffled and crunched together. The presence should be more there. What I am trying to say it should sound so crunched together like in the background. All the parts are great. The drums should be a little more louder, there to much in the background. Song is good in general it is just that the mix does not bring out the richness of sound as it should. Just my opinion brothers.

Nice tune

My first thoughts were that it has that fol-key Gordon Lightfoot with a touch of Moody Blues type of feel. Love the subject matter and that you lyrics have a point, and that your heart is in the right place, rocking for God. Liked the way you used the volume pedal or knob to create a cool sound that works really well with the song. Definitely a highlight. The production was pretty good and the structure worked well. Would be interesting to hear more. Keep rocking for Jesus.
