This has been such a cathartic process, from the actual writing of this song, after having lost my beautiful Mom, following a brief illness, at only 78, in 2013.
I wrote it, and played this song live for the first time (incredibly hard to get through it, without getting emotional), at Light of Day, in 2015, and continued to do so, at people’s requests for it, at gigs, and have finally recorded it.
Now, to create this video, infusing the very essence of personal emotions and memories that I wanted to convey, to complete my story about her, has been the best part of it.
I want to thank Kyle Ward, one of my guitar players, of Kyle Ward Productions, who totally gets me, and my process, so well, and adds his expertise, and enthusiasm, which is so contagious, that helps me bring my songs to life.
He and I designed a very unique synth dynamic to this tune, to give it the spacey, ethereal, and contemporary sound it has. Finally, I asked my ubertalented musical compadre of 30 yrs, Norman Seldin,
to add his piano magic, and he rounded out my vision to perfection.
Breathing life into these songs I’ve written over the years, is so amazing…and when they are finally ready to launch, it’s like watching your child walk for the first time….it’s terrifying and exhilarating all at once!
I hope this touches anyone, who has lost someone dear to them, with a lightness and gentle hug, because I wanted to impart comfort to others, with my belief, that life continues, just in another form, and that you can keep loved ones near, by embracing all life and nature around us. I hope I succeeded in doing that, by releasing this very personal story to the world. Peace, Pam

Hi everyone! So excited to announce that I have released a new song, now streaming, and available for purchase on all sites! I wrote this in March, after the Covid lockdown was enforced, and answers to what was happening, how long we would have to be isolated from loved ones, and kept from our daily life, created some anxiety for me. I realized, in writing this song, that maybe others could find comfort and hope, as I found for myself, once I put my worries onto paper. I have received great feedback from my listeners, and if I can help others with this release, then I know I will have succeeded in my purpose for writing it! Please share! I'm in the studio, as time allows, between my producer's travelling, and mine...but we are closing in on the 6th tune, and they are sounding amazing, so I'm being patient with the drawn out process it entails! Have a few more to go before final vox and then the fun of having some incredible friends and associates add their personal touches vocally, and instrumentally to the project. Whew...such a rush to know the talent I call friends!

About Pam McCoy
Pam McCoy, is a singer/songwriter who entertains regularly in NJ/metro area restaurants and clubs, either solo, or with her group, Pam McCoy & Familiar Faces.
Her early training in classical vocals, evolved into playing guitar and performing folk-rock in her early teens, adding blues, motown, country, pop, rock and her originals along the way. Her gutsy, vocals lend well to all genres. Her originals are evocative, drawing the listener in, as she weaves a tale that is both personal and universal, and always moving.
She has shared the stage with legend Marty Balins, of Jefferson Airplane/Starship fame, to help raise money for longtime friend, Slick Aguilar, who returned to the music scene after a liver transplant. She joined Slick again for his
reunion on stage with Paul Kantner and Jefferson Starship at BB Kings in NYC. They can be seen performing occasionally together in Jersey shore clubs.
She has performed background vocals for Mark Rivera, as well as Rob Thomas, Cindy Lauper, Natalie Merchant, Darlene Love, and others, as a member of Holiday Express, a travelling holiday party of musicians delivering music, food, gifts, and financial support and friendship to those with the greatest need for the gift of human kindness during the holiday season, and throughout the year.
She has numerous studio arranging, vocal and co-writing credits on cd's and ep's with talented area artists, like Stormin’ Norman Seldin, Tim McLoone's Holiday Express, Sam Sims, Emily Grove, and John Hathaway.
She has performed with notable musical troubadour, Pat Guadagno, and a well-known roster, including Rob Paparozzi, John Korba, Michael Ghegan, Steve Delopoulos, Remember Jones, Steve Reilly, Jillian Rhys McCoy, and others, for "A Marvelous Night", a Van Morrison tribute show, annually.
Pam also performs with a Neil Young Tribute band, called Decade, with John Hathaway and multi-talented band, in theaters, and supper clubs.
She has been a featured singer with Tim McLoone's Holiday Express since 1996, one of a number of non-profit organizations she gives her time and talent to.
She has been an annual performer in the Twilight Concert for The Aids Resource Foundation for Children benefit for St. Claire's Home since 1997.
Is a performing member of the NJ Jazz and Blues Foundation, and has been a board member of Musicians On A Mission since its inception in 2010,
