The original Greek word for repentance means cleansing your thinking. Considering God is a holy God we are called to put on the mind of Christ and see things from a heavenly perspective. In fact we read in 2 Corinthians 7:1,” Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear (reverence) of God. Anything that you serve that is not of God is basically filthy. For example, entertaining the spirit of hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness, strife, jealousy and envy, criticising, faultfinding, condemnation, anger, murmuring and complaining etc. We have these brilliant promises from the Lord and instructed to understand that not only does our flesh need daily washing, but so does our spirit. Repentance is also the condition for healing miracles to happen.
