Madeline Lew

Bassist DJ Model Vocalist
Madeline Lew was born on November 16, 1985 in San Francisco, California to a Chinese father and Japanese mother of mixed heritage. She has two older brothers, which includes her brother Patrick from their band PLB. She later moved to British Hong Kong at an early age to live with her mother's family for most of her childhood and her adult life. As the bassist and occasional singer/songwriter of the Patrick Lew Band (PLB) since Halloween 2015, Madeline made a quick rise to the top regionally and on the Internet with her older brother's band. Before joining her older brother in the band PLB, Madeline was living with her mother's relatives in Hong Kong, working numerous day jobs and studying graphic design at University of Hong Kong. She also was previously a bassist and rhythm guitarist in a few local Hong Kong punk rock bands. By 2015, she relocated back to her birthplace of San Francisco, California, to join her older brother Patrick and drummer David Arceo in the Patrick Lew Band. Madeline's tenure with the Patrick Lew Band was met with critical acclaim upon her arrival, and her presence in the musical project brought the band back to prominence in the indie music circuit and locally in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her first appearance with the band in the studio was their 2017 release OAKLAND. Aside from playing bass on numerous tracks and recordings with the Patrick Lew Band, she has also lent her lead vocals to a few PLB songs, such as "BE YOURSELF!", "Burning Desire" and "Nothing Stands Our Way" on their 2021 album Rolling Thunder. Madeline has also brought her public persona as a digital content creator. And has also become a prolific member of the band (like her brother Patrick) on social-media as a virtual comedian and influencer. In 2020, Madeline Lew released her first solo EP titled TO THE MOON AND BACK worldwide on digital music streaming platforms such as Bandcamp, Spotify and Apple Music in partnership with CDBaby. In 2018, she also joined her older brother Patrick and his close friend Yandie Chien's experimental rock band Crazy Loser in a Box! as a full-time band member.

Patrick Lew

Actor Game Music Composer Guitarist Bassist
Born in San Francisco CA on November 15, 1985, Patrick Lew is a second generation Asian-American of Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese descent. Whether by fate or coincidence, the eclecticism of Lew's heritage is mirrored by the path his music has taken. Sometimes it's credited to his Patrick Lew Band, and other times to his musical pseudonym, The Steel Lions, but the music is always a raw and loose mix of garage punk, grunge, and no nonsense rock and roll. Lew has been spending well over a decade practicing his craft, perfecting his sound, building an internet fan base, and putting himself into a position to take the music community by storm. Flash forward through the years of friends, start-up bands, school, life in general, and eventually Lew found himself playing full-time with his group, TheVerse. Once he enrolled in California State University, going for his B.A. in Philosophy and Music. his musical talent still flourished in his writing and self-recording, especially partway through college in 2009. It was around this point that he began investing time into the Patrick Lew Band. While primarily a rhythm guitar player, Lew's been able to self-record much of his own music with a larger band sound by picking up the bass and programming some drum tracks to accompany him. Through the magic of the internet and home recording equipment, Lew's also been able to collaborate with a lot of different musicians, each of them contributing to the library of songs in Lew's arsenal.
