About Penguins Never Jump

Originated in Dordrecht, The Netherlands, two guys combined their opposite musical backgrounds into the catchy sounds of the Penguins... Penguins Never Jump is a studio band created by Jacco and Less Howling.

While Less Howling was crawling up from the deep basements of metal, Jacco was reaching higher atmospheres with classical piano studies.

Starting out as a drummer, Less picked up a guitar to abuse, found his roots within punk rock and formed the band Trickless. Jacco left his piano, found himself a guitar to polish and started performing in more new wave rock oriented bands.

As Less was busy recording several loud albums with Trickless, Jacco was on the road playing theater based, acoustic music.

How the two characters met will always remain a mystery. All we know is that these two guys created some catchy Punk Rock tunes quickly after they first met. It resulted in the first official recording, the (expired link).: “Feeling Jumpy…”

Obviously, their connection, and how they melt their musical backgrounds into the Penguins, is an even bigger mystery (even to them…). Maybe it’s the climate change, or maybe they are just talented as fuck… Whatever the reason is, the songs keep coming.
