About Pete Grant, The Stepsons

Hi, I am an Englishman, uprooted to California 17 years ago. I was a working musician back home, and also worked in music management, most notably as manager for blues/jazz sax player Dick Heckstall-Smith.

Since I moved to CA, I have played lead and sung with a number of working bands, mostly in the Central Valley, although ill health has slowed things down in recent years. I have also co-authored a book with Dick about his career, “Blowing the Blues: 50 Years Of The British Blues” . I have a book out myself, “The Noise It Makes”, a book about what music can mean to people, what it means to me, with illustrations from my life growing up in London in the 60s.

We are now living in Camarillo, and I am hoping to get back to performing early in the new year.
