Sharing the Journey - Advent 2024
Hello Saints,
Last winter on a cold, wet, dreary day, I reread the poem, ‘Footprints in the sand’, which several writers lay claim to being the original author. I had a semi-finished musical composition and was looking for a suitable topic to write about and having reread the poem decided this was it and that it should have a Reggae/Caribbean feel.
So, having just returned from a holiday to Jamaica, I thought I would release the song as a memento of our trip and as a reminder of the walks we had along sandy beaches. I also hope it will be an aid to those of us who live in the Northern Hemisphere to help us get through the cold winter nights that we will face over the coming months. I met a gentleman from Canada who was flying back from +29 degrees Celsius in Jamaica to -12 degrees in Calgary the following day!!!
During this time of Advent, we give thanks for Jesus’s birth and him coming amongst us. We also think about the future and his second coming when he will return to judge the living and the dead and redeem all those who have believed in him.
I hope this song will act as a reminder that through the Holy Spirit, Jesus is with us each day helping and enabling us to face whatever comes across our path and will continue to encourage us until the day when he returns. Please do check out the lyrics.
I pray you have a very blessed Christmas.
Cheers Peter
