Cool jazzy vibe, with sort of latin percussion extending the boundaries of the trac. Well produced unpretentious lounge style. The band makes a piece of resistance, cohesive substantial sound. Congratulations!

Cool song, very different to what is usually out but in a good way. This song sounds like it has some 70's funk influences which i really love but you've made it sound pretty current. I like this track and the vocals are awesome!

POP-O brings us NAW MEAN... a swingin piece from the roots of jazz. This song I look at from two perspectives.. from the song and from the recording... From the song perspective I have a great respect for the groove... From the recording perspective I have to be honest... certain points of the song were painful to listen to. The compression totally crushed the dynamics of this song and there are several parts that are distorted and cluttered. If I could I would remix this for them to show them what just a little effort could do to create depth and separation and then master it with a great deal more dynamic range. I almost gave this song only 2 stars... but I liked the groove so much I gave it an added star but the mix and mastering were so painful to listen through... there is so much more to this song but its sounds like packing an entire school bus of musicians into a smart car... and that wasn't a wise step in the mixing and mastering process.

messy funky gospel

funky start wha wha guitar, quite an interesting track very different ,sounds kinda gospel, with funk it gets a bit messy in places , so it should be simplified, too many singers spoil the broth it doesn't get in to a groove and some of the singing doesn't scan very well, its not my cup of tea but will appeal to others

Right off the bat, what a cool sound. A little Isley Brothers influence maybe? Like what you are doing. Very smooth. Has a early 1970's groove, and I just love that. I could not write this if I tried. Way cool. Keep doing your thing. Take Care Edward Westbrook P.S. Claim your Blessing YES!

Naw Mean Review

I love the instrumental and background vocals. I get the point of the lead vocal but the approach takes away from the concept. The vocal is so dissonant that it does not create that marriage of music to vocal. Second, the vocals are distorting so it would be important to do a remix of the track and watch your levels. There is something here, a story, a point so I don't suggest giving up on the track but a better approach on the lead vocal (perhaps a female vocal) needs to happen. Looking forward to hearing it if you re-do it.

Confusing

I'm not sure what the artist wants to accomplish here. The vocals come like a 70's jazz song and are fine. However the overlaying vocals negatively impact what is happening there. The production on this record needs improvement to be commercially viable. The song is listed for pop, hip hop and reggae - probably hip hop is the closest categorization, I'm not getting pop or reggae in this performance.

The direction of this song title is well defined and the melody and vocals compliment each other throughout. The lyrical content is strong but at certain junctures the background vocals sounds as though the recording had 'peaked' thus producing some distortion (sounded a bit fuzzy). The arrangement is nice and it would have gone much farther if the guitar, or any other instrument, had been provided an opportunity to express the players musical prowess and thus offering a segmented way to the vocal epilogue. All in all, a worthwhile effort is displayed in the arrangement and kudos to all who brought this project to fruition. Keep going guys...you're not far away from serious/professional marketing/promotional endeavors.

This song is a soul that remembers me of the classics of this genre. In my opinion, the voices mix a bit too much, some pitches and the lyrics got a bit compromised but cool. The groove is there and I felt like dancing.
