I will be at Total Firearms on Saturday June 17th, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. It will be an open jam and everyone is invited even if you don’t play an instrument. I will also be playing my original Instrumentals. Sounds fun!

Greetings everyone. “By The Way” is a new instrumental that I have been working on all summer. Talked the Jazz Band Director at Lansing Community College today and he was interested in my charts, starting this coming spring. Great news. I will be writing out a Jazz Band chart for his Jazz Band. Once “By The Way” is charted, it will be available for Jazz Bands, Junior, High School and College. Get a minute, drop by and take a listen. At a very young age I always knew that I loved music.
Born in Plainview Tx, moved to Lubbock Tx at the age of three, I would sit on my swing and make up songs. Music has been in my family for years, from my mother to my grandmother there was always music in the home. At the age of twelve I created a song called “Flutter of the Blue Jays”. I still remember sitting at the old dining room table and putting the song in a score form with my mom helping me write the score. Lubbock Tx was having a song writing contest and I was so excited about admitting my song I couldn’t sleep at all that night. I did not win the grand prize, but I did come in second place. After that the music took hold.
As in almost everyone’s lives, life takes you down a different path. But I never left sight of the goal I so loved as a child, an young adult to the grand age I am today. My love of playing keyboards and writing has done nothing but get stronger with each passing day. Every time I walk by a keyboard I to have play it. Sometimes it can get you in trouble, but not always.
The music I compose is a blend of progressive jazz/rock combination. As being a trombone player thru junior high into college, and placed into the Music Hall of Fame “Who’s Who in Music” in 1978, I found another talent that started on that day sitting at that kitchen table in Lubbock Tx. Writing full jazz band scores, then combine the scores with a rock style, then you get the best of both worlds of music. I just love the sound of horns and orchestration in the music I create.
I am asked how do I get my ideas for songs? My response is that “the music just creates itself” I will sit down at my keyboards and just let the music put itself together. Sure I could just let the world go by and let my dreams just pass away, but since that day I sat in my swing and made up songs, today I am talking to you and I hope you will come and hear me play.
I would love for the world to hear my songs, because that is why they are written. Maybe in time, the music I compose will contribute to the music in time for future and present music lovers too.
