In today’s era it is rare to see an artist that not only has a commanding presence, but also has the content to grab the attention of an audience and Keep it. Hailing from the groundbreaking streets of Long Island, a storied landscape of pioneering hip hop artists such as EPMD, Rakim, Eric B, Keith Murray, I introduce to you Pritty Militant.

From an early age Pritty Militant aspired to be like her idol Mc. Lyte. Having an upbrining where music was a past time in the household, Pritty Militant learned to appreciate artists such as Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Tina Turner, Bootsy Collins and many other artists of that era, Pritty Militant gravitates towards becoming a recording artist. It was when Pritty’s mother took her to a party and watched the DJ spin records when she realized that hip hop was what she wanted to do. Pritty Militant inspires to change the Hip Hop industry by putting the soul and love for the art back in to music.

Pritty Militant has been expressing her lyrical progress for the last three years. Having performed on stages on the east coast, most recently appearing on the Def Jam/Universal Unsigned Stars Tour 2016, which took her to places such as Atlanta, South Carolina, and New Orleans. She has opened for artists such as Papoose and Cory Guns. She has appeared on many stages in her native Long Island. She was nominated for Best female rapper 2015 and best stage performance at The I Am Strong Island Awards by David Randall. Influenced by pioneers Mc Lyte and Queen Latifah, Pritty Militant has made it a point of being a woman of power who can not only come into this game but also dominate it.

Fed up with the use of violence and drug use in todays hip hop, Pritty Militant has addressed these issues with the current release of her new mixtape '' Bringin Hip Hop Back''. '' Bringin Hip Hop Back'' is an ode to the times when lyrics mattered. The times of rappers like Eric. B, Rakim, KRS-ONE, and EMPD whose lyrics gave instructions on what to do and what not to do. With other projects that include lead roles in the web series '' Prey Before You Eat'' which is nominated for the 2017 Web Series Awards and ''Gimme The Loot'', Pritty Militant is out to prove that not only can she hang with the boys in this male dominated industry, but that she is also her own boss and is in control of her own destinies.
