The rose from the grave
It’s a very nice way to remember your mom by writing a song about the Bible that she gave you and how you have remembered her by using a marker from a Rose at her grave. Really symbolic of those people in your life that matter and have made a difference will have influenced you. Thank you for sharing and for showing compassion and love that you have for the Lord and for your mother. Keep on writing keep on sharing you have a delicate voice one that reminds me of the singers of old are used to write songs like thatHand in hand and some of those songs which have influenced so many people throughout the ages. I hope that your son goes on to influence a lot of people and let people come to Christ even through the rose from the grave

A Rose in The Bible
Very good song about Mom and her Bible. She is with Jesus now and her memory remains. A wonderful song that we should all cherish and look to Jesus as our guiding light and read His Word and remember Mom by. Took me back to how grateful I am for my Mom and her love for me and Jesus Christ. Mom's love for us is great and God's love through her made me the Musician I am today. God bless God loving Mom's and This song by Randy Green SR.

Very Comforting
This song is very lovely. with a relaxing country feel. I love the acoustics in the mix. The words are deep and inspiring. This song is sung, I believe from the very personal experience of someone who has lost a loved one, in which many can relate to who have lost a loved one. Very nice song Mr. Green, Sr.

Song review
This is a challenging piece in that the flutes must be proficient at rapid tonguing and the high tessitura of the trumpets and horns can be demanding. The snare drum solos are effective and provide smooth linkages between sections. However, the dynamics must be carefully observed to make these transitions effective. A proficient xylophone player is necessary in this piece.

A few comments and suggestions
Nice tone in your vocals, but it needs a little bit more "presence". You can bring up some of the higher frequencies in your EQ in order for your voice to shine a little more. Also, make sure to balance your instrumental track with your vocals; vocals sound louder than instruments. Also, there is a mid-frequency in your vocal track that has some distortion when the vocals hit those frequencies. In addition, I think that there needs to be more energy when recording vocals. With this in mind, I think you have lots of potential, but need to spend more time getting the best sound out of the mic, mic-pre amp, and singing with more energy. When mixing make sure that "everything" is balanced and not just add the vocals over the instruments. Overall, pretty good. Blessings. Sincerely and Respectfully, José René

Interesting love song to mom
Randy Green Sr.'s recording of "A Rose in the Bible" is a touching love song to his mother. He sings with a pleasant bass voice, and though he does not have a lot of talent, he is nearly always on pitch, and the sincere message of loving reverence shines through. Everything about this song is country, and his vowel sounds give his overall delivery an overly countrified sound. The production is simple but effective, with piano, guitar, bass, and violin (appropriately, no drums) all nicely performed by clearly talented musicians. Their care and professionalism is clear, no more so than in the coordinated guitar and violin in the second half of the break. I especially like the excellent fiddle floating quietly in the background through most of the song. The producer has done a great job of making Randy's voice sound as lush as possible, and there is plenty there to work with. The band is so good that I wish the vocal was not so far out in front of them (which is the OPPOSITE of the problem I usually hear with mixes on N1M!). Randy's voice is so strong and deep that it can carry over more volume of band behind him. The one small criticism I have of the band and the way it is handled in this recording is that the band does not slow down at the end of the song, when the vocal clearly does. From a songwriting standpoint, I have a few quibbles. First off, the song is obviously intended to be a tear jerker. (It works, BTW) There's nothing wrong with a heartfelt song that brings the listener to tears. In fact, that is a mark of a great song. But when you set out to induce tears, that's another matter. That's kind of manipulative. The clues that make me suspect this intent are the crack in the voice in the first verse, and the line "pages all stained with tears," also in the first verse. Really? Who cries all over their Bible? Get a Kleenex and keep your Bible clean. You may want to read it again some day. See what I'm saying? I don't mean to be harsh, I'm just trying to make my point clear. Another line that I have a small problem with is "unlike the rose, her memory won't fade." Memories always fade, even the most vivid. If her memory is staying fresh after many years, I just think you could find a better way to say that. Maybe you could even say how you keep that memory fresh. On the line, "her memory he saves," you really need to pronounce the "h" in "he". Otherwise, the listener hears "her memory saves". That's what I heard the first 2 times, and it threw me from the story line, that's all. Finally, the tag line "a rose in a Bible that I took from her grave" has a small problem. From context, it is clear that it was the rose that was taken from the grave, but when you string the words together in this particular way, one wonders whether it was the rose you took from the grave, or the Bible. It opens the song up to fun-poking. Randy, my fellow Texan, this song isn't bad at all. But more important by far, you are blessed to have a mother that inspires this kind of outpouring, even after so many years. Not all of us do! Best to you in all things.

Great song
Great song! The guitar playing has elements of classic rock with a newer approach added in as well the drums and bass are a tight rhythm section. The singer has a great melodic approach with some gut wrenching growl added in.

Review of A Rose in the Bible
Hi Randy. This is one of those awesome songs that I could see being sung by a fella like Don Williams. Great instrumentals but the voice is a bit unsure and shaky. Keep up the great work my friend. My voice is not low enough to do full justice to this heart warmer, but I sure would like to be allowed to do this song some time at the places I get asked to sing; that is when all of the restrictions are lifted. ???? Many blessings to you and yours Randy, Trev :)

Beautiful Memory of family Love
Is this an original that you wrote? I love the words, so special and full of love. It will bring memories to many I am sure and I believe that is what makes a song become a favorite to many. The music is good, reminiscent of the music of a few years back. I believe I hear a violin which adds much to a Country song. We seldom see a Violin (fiddle) out here in California. I wish you lots of success with this song and many more.

In MY Opinion
Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the message in this song. I would bring the back up music volume up a bit, it is to nice to leave it so far in the back ground. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny
