Warm regards BAYWUD The first song, “Calling” is a piano heavy tune that offers beautiful lyrical imagery painting pictures of; ‘a page filled with secret letters’, ‘a child chasing their own shadow’, and ‘viewing life through broken windows’. The song is about being in a dark place, not knowing where to go or what to do, but hearing that voice in your head that’s tirelessly trying to help you find your way back to the good place. The second track “Damn You” was inspired by the artist’s past struggles with depression and drug addiction. It’s BAYWUD’s letter to the enemy. The song starts with acoustic guitar for the first half of the song, introducing beautifully incorporated cellos, played by Ro Rowan from the second verse through to the end. The EP closes with “Home”, a song written for a friend, who lost her mom during the pandemic. It brought up the idea of home, something we all search for and need in our life; a place to feel at home, a place where love thrives.
