About Randy Lyght
Growing up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Randy had his own bands in the late ‘60’s and early 70’s, Mixed Breed and Black Lyghtning along side other great bands of the time including The Fugitives and The Thorns featuring Rick Lazar and Paul Shaffer.
From 1974-1976, Randy toured 10 countries with the World Renowned Platters group. His musical talent only became stronger under the direction of his fellow performers Jackie Richardson, Tony Gaines and Jason Mack.
In the 1980’s Randy, living in Vancouver, BC, performed in live entertainment venues provided by his agent at the time Paul Mascioli, owner of Prestige Entertainment Agency in Victoria BC. He also recorded a single cover of “Feel Like Making Love” produced by Hermann Fruhm at Mushroom studios, which received some radio airplay at the time across Canada. He also worked with producer Brian Griffiths at Little Mountain Sound, recording radio jingles for such clients as The Louisville Times and a tribute song for the University of British Columbia. In 1986, Randy left the entertainment business to marry and raise his two sons.
