About Randy Rhythm
Randy Rhythm is Living, Coping, Breathing...
Funky Noise to Rock your mind
I am Randy and such a brat. They have called me Vandal when I was a troubled teen. Today I have been told I am the Keeper of Faith, a Poet, a friend called me 'my friend' a lover 'my love' she bestowed upon me... Sweetheart I called myself James then found Yaga a name lived to extreme. Someone said Edward and Randall would somehow dignify me. Though life is more than that. For this Son Brother Dad Uncle life became transient so they called me a Gypsy, a Wanderer, a Draughtsman finding his own Randy Rhythm. I was honored with Ace an influence to me. Then there is Izzy, Clown and Fool but more precious to me were moments when they called me 'my Ranchoo'. I have been Roman, and this bull is a Taurian Matador who once played Candyman with sweets for the mind. Finding the Warrior was a life that came calling then calling myself Addict became life saving grace. Drunk... Asshole... Bastard all have been a beckon to me to heed someone's call. I became a Scout, a Musher, the Tender a Goalie, a Coach... Insane and in Love... Bi-Polar Hyper-Active Wired or Weirdo they all speak my name and they all know my names. A Blood Clot from the Yaworski Clan, a black sheep, a Falcon, a Charger, Sir Randall a Duke of Kent a Viking a Sabre even a Saint all given me to aid life battle calls... Though I tell you now as one to one other... In all I have lived full of the life with the love that I know in my heart the one name that suits me... and you best is sweet precious loving... Child of God.
Growing up with two influential Uncles, one a drummer for a dance band who opened a world of appreciation for raw musical talent and ability. The other Cool Uncle who became like a stepfather... listening to Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Elvis, Chuck Berry... a lot of the Rhythm and Blues and early Rock and Roll influence led to guitar lessons at 7. Older sister played the accordion, and the organ in the house often led to musical play and exploration.
Became immersed in Rock, Blues and Jazz… If a common thread to the music of influence exists it would be soul inspiring lyrics with a great beat and fantastic vibe. Something that moves one from a primal place deep within.
Following the loss of a childhood and lifelong friend (Ben) Inspiration became a spark that became a flame. His story is the motivation behind the Randy Rhythm Project. Living, Coping, Breathing... a journey into daily life of a person who lives in a realm we don’t quite understand. Call it Mental Health Music that will Rock your mind

Living, Coping, Breathing... is a journey into the daily life of a person who lives in a realm we don’t quite understand.
Ben lived in that realm…
my childhood and lifelong friend... Ben...
His story is the motivation behind the Randy Rhythm Project.
Ben suffered in ways almost indiscernible, but progressively fatal.
Living, Coping, Breathing... paints a picture of the thoughts in the mind of one who suffered from Mental Health issues.
Our hope is that the album will take you on a journey… as if you visited Ben with me and spent time with him for a few days.
Living, Coping, Breathing... is Mental Health Awareness
that will Rock your mind.

“When you are mad, mad like this, you don't know it. Reality is what you see. When what you see shifts, departing from anyone else's reality, it's still reality to you.” - Marya Hornbacher
Before I had heard the music behind “Living, Coping, Breathing”, I was granted the opportunity to read over the lyrics of each piece that made up the album, completely unfettered by preconceived notions and personal bias. I was touched by what I read, especially in the songs “Way To Go” and “Wake Up My Friend”, and “I Can’t Let You Go”.
The words speak with an honesty that befits a heart mourning the loss of a dear friend to a quiet tragedy - mental illness.
The words themselves are enough to well up with sympathetic tears for the pain that is left for those who loved Ben (the subject of this tribute album) but then I hit play and everything changed.
The words speak the grief, sadness, loneliness, confusion, paranoia and all the other emotions that one may feel when faced with mental illness, but it speaks it to people who are not familiar with loving someone sick with this disease. When the guitar begins, I realized that Randy would be giving me the rare opportunity to know what it feels like to see the world through Ben’s eyes. I could sympathize with the words, but Randy and his guitar would seek to teach me empathy, even for a brief moment. The driving rhythms and
the heavy distortions wrap the listener in a place that takes you from anxiety and panic, to spinning in confusion and to an eerie calm that foreshadows something dark to come. I found myself understanding why Ben would cry out to be wrapped in a bubble that would keep him safe, and one can’t help but to look at oneself and wonder how unfriendly to an afflicted mind our system really is.
I applaud the effort evident in each note and each word written from the heart of a caring and understanding soul setting out to tell Ben’s story. Living, Coping, Breathing is a rare glimpse into a tragic existence, one where the base human need to communicate and feel understood is so far out of reach.
