Ray Alexander has decided to return to composition and recording after the release of his second solo album No Dice. This is due largely to the feedback received from listeners. His intention was to return to painting after the album was completed in March of this year. He has now re-opened his studio to collaborate with the Scottish actor and singer Trish Mullin. Trish has performed in several Glasgow bands through the years. She has also played a large part in editing work by Ray Alexander in the past.The track Consciousness was originally inspired at first by the LaMDA AI chatbot that had fooled many people in believing that a proto-sentient algorithm had emerged. The concept of fusion betweenhumans and technology to create a Deus ex Machina resolution to the problem was clear and so the soundscape evolved. This was also an opportunity for Ray to return to his first love, electronic music. Using an array of virtual analogue synthesizers and bleeding edge granular synthesis, along with the dynamic vocal of Trish Mullin. What he has produced is an incredible atmospheric composition suitable for Film and Television. A second collaborative release is due later this year.
