Good morning from Belfast my Christian friend and thank you for requesting me to review your Christian Rap song "GET TO HEAVEN" which in my opinion i found the track to have great vocals and harmonies and the melody together with the production was very professional and very well performed,the lyrics get the Christian message across very well and will reach out to people who may otherwise never listen to the word of God being preached and may the Lord use your talent for his Glory.

I love the message 100! It is refreshing to hear the black man give praises to the King of kings. As for the production of the music, I love the “live band” type of feel. You most definitely have a beautiful and real message to share with all who are willing to hear. Don’t stop.

Reggie Love Get to Heaven is a great Christian rap number with a great backing track that supports the cool rap vocal line. Although this sort of music is not my usual music listening,I really enjoyed this track and will certainly listen to more from this artist . Hey bro, I can't remember the name of the track you are using but that seventy's feel is tight. Just a suggestion mix it again to get a fatter mix. Some parts of the track sounds like it's going in and out when your vocal comes in. Otherwise doing God's work...Yessir!

The mix has too much compression. It seems to me that there is some "duck compression" (vocal is always on top and the compressor brings down the instrumental part in order for the vocals to be always on top). This kind of compression is good, but too much of it can ruin a mix. Also, there are other elements of compression that I hear especially in the brass/strings/pads that are not helping the mix. I feel that the compressors are taking away from the essence of what you are trying to convey through your overall message. The arrangements are pretty good. A little more emotion in your first vocals would help. The instruments themselves have been EQ'ed pretty good as far as I can tell, but again the compressor settings are not set correctly. The message of the lyrics is great! I suggest you reference tracks for your genre prior to mixing and during mixing. There is no such thing as overdoing it on the reference tracks. I would recommend creating a template in your DAW of other professional recordings that you think match your project(s) and playing them over and over for about a week in your studio environment (where you mix) in order for your ears and mindset to readjust to some of the elements of those professional reference tracks. I had to do the same thing and it has really helped in my overall mindset including tracking, mixing, and mastering. Also, don't settle for listening and making final decisions in your studio. Go to a place, like your car or a good set of headphones that you normally use to just "enjoy" your favorite tunes and play your music through that system, see if your mix also sounds good. If you can, however, use other forms of speakers/monitors/headphones outside and inside your studio, your recording should pretty much sound consistent and there should not be any loss of musical vibe and groove. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the message in this song.Think about a music solo break to step away from vocals for a short period in future works. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years.
