Ypres hardcore, Belgium. A brutal mix of Merauder, Hatebreed & Bolt Thrower... Retaliate was born out of the hate against a nation that embraced their futur with a judas kiss. Being a product of the infamous Ypres scene ( Congress, Kingpin, One Outta Six,...) Retaliate started out early 2000. The first demo tape '(expired link) was released on 'Death comes rippin' recs' in the summer of 2000 and sold out in no time.

The years that followed were marked by line-up changes and an incredible amount of bullshit with the scene of that time. Fueled by all this shit, Retaliate played a lot of shows in order to spread the hatred and chaos during 2000-2002.

Early 2002, Retaliate released on DHM records a split cd with their fellow DHM brothers Outcast. The split was called 'Hate Injected' and contained to 2 Retaliate tracks ('Claim your price' & 'Chain of Hatred' recorded at the CCR studios.

During 2003, Retaliate signed for germany's infamous Filled With Hate records and early 2004 the first product of their collaboration was a fact. The MCD 'Dead in the eyes of Salvation' contained 6 songs and a intro. A lot of shows were played in support: Pressure fest, Ypres fest (second time), Goodlife fest, shows with Everybody gets hurt, Shattered Realm, etc...
