Vibes!
I like the originality of your work. Strong message and creativity is a big plus. Good production, I can hear some good vocals to this, good job on the final mix-down. I can tell you have your heart and soul into what you do. Keep on pushing and never give up or get distracted in pursuing the dream of making it. I like the instrumental blend of sounds with some vocals and the production on the track is good. Keep up the great work! Peace!!!

Chunky Music Man
Man, this tunes got some swing. What an intro to hook the ears of this fish :). I love the style of the vocals and the space in the music. Drums are great and are recorded beautifully. The guitar switches seamlessly between the rhythm and chunky melody, giving the tune a shuffle and also some stunning accents of joy. A really enjoyable moment for me and probably you to.

Richie Hoffman's "Control X"
Upon your very first listen to the excellent "Control X" by Pennsylvania's Richie Hoffman, you cannot help but be deeply impressed by Hoffman's songwriting abilities and the musical performance on display here - as well as the interesting production. While you will perhaps identify Richie Hoffman's musical influences, he definitely has a unique sound that is all his own. Highly recommended!

A hit song or not - but you did it!
Hit songs of our time might sound different, that's true. But are we real independent singers and songwriters the ones to create hits for radio airplay? I don't think so. We are there to write the other songs. All these songs are valid, all are worth to listen to, all contribute to the universe of music, known or unknown. It is my firm belief that it doesn't really matter whether it's a hit song or not. What matters is that you do it. That you express yourself with your own means. That you sit down all these lonely hours and do your best on the various instruments, that you mix and master and finally release it. This is what you've done, and you have my full respect for doing so. By the way I like this cool and clean guitar riff. It is funky and special, it stays in my ear which to me always is a sign of quality. Probably I would have played the drums a bit different, a bit straighter and maybe also harder. Less toms and more of a straight and hard boom-chack groove, I don't know. But, as said, you did it and you made it. It's yours, it's unique, and that is what counts.

Keep up the creative vibe
Nice vibe sounds like something that is groovy and something that a rock band can cover and you can make big funds from if that is your thing. I know that I don't mind notable artists releasing my music on their own albums, but I must admit, I'd like to be the one to establish my sound and creative vibes first.

Great track
I really like this one Richie, from play the instruments had me moving, and the lyrics was as heavy hitting as well, I got taken away by the strumming of the guitar must say it does give quite the satisfaction, you said this was your first track, I must commend you on a great first effort, you really did a great job on this being your first track and all and I applaud you. Keep up the good work buddy

IF THIS IS HOW GOOD YOU ARE PLAYING AROUND... WANT TO HEAR SERIOUS!
Great beat. Reminds me of late 70's early 80's... In a good way. Wanted more. This song is just begging for a modulation out of the short bridge and some serious drums. You know, the down and dirty drums with NO high hats, to finish it out. But, wow, really enjoy this! You said you were just playing around. My goodness, finish this song. And you have a great voice and an intuitive sense for phrasing. If it was my song, I would pull the vocals forward, and use more dynamics from soft to loud. You have the pipes. Play some more and let this song soar into the great song it is just itching to be. You obviously have talent. So enjoyed listening to this. Thank you.

A little funky a little punk
Cool guitar riff leading the song with a bit of a throwback funk going on. At the same time, the vocal comes across with a little British punk flair that contrasts nicely with the funky feel. Mix and mastering work could help, but good start.

nice song
Hi mr Hoffman. Here's my review of Control X, your song. You invent great guitar riffs and your guitar strumming is really awesome. The rythm, the drums in this song are truely swinging and I like your voice. You got an original style and it's very clear that you're a truely crafted musician... Just one remark about the compositions of your songs. I'd say: Try to put a little more expanded break in the middle of them. Anyway. You're worthy of being played on the radio in my country, that's Belgium, and beyond... Your music is nearly always played firstly by me on N1M... Cheers :)

Review Control X
A unique riff drives your tune. The vocal and lyrics work well with your music. You got your musical message across well playing all parts yourself. You might recruit a female trio to provide complimentary background to your vocals. The syncopated tempo works very well. I hear either a slide guitar accents are harpsichord. You spent a lot of time on your song and by all means post more. jd

Funky Funky
There is a cool vocal performance in the recording. The genre singer / songwriter is not the right genre. I would say that this is funk and - if you are an independent artist - indie rock. Yes, it is monotone, but I would say that is quite normal for this genre (funk). I would make more variations in the parts to make it more interesting for the listener. You could add a keyboard, you could make one verse with different guitar and different drums,... you could do anything - you are the creative.

Unique Indie-Song
Impressive song with great accompanying funky guitar sound puts one immediately into the right mood. The bass-line keep straight and dry. Richie Hoffman shows his great talent as multiinstrumentalist in this first recording. Additionally his unique voice in various vocal projection brings really a strong feeling into the song. He has a great talent to give an account in words about someone or something, including all the relevant characteristics, qualities, or events. Imaginative transitions from the stanza to the bridge with real good elaborated drum-parts and catchy chorus making the song lively and creative. Overall perfect mixed and mastered. Fantastic played e-guitar have the main role and increases the song. This song is from a musician, who understand what good music is about. Professional arrangement influenced by indie and alternativ rock. I can´t stop listen and I´m sure, you will also like to add.

In My Opinion
Greetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the energy in this song.Think about a music solo break to step away from vocals for a short period in future works. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny

Acid rock song
The fast obsessive sound at the begin of this song gives some rhythm to this acid rock song. This song seems an acoustic rock's song, with few instruments and this is a positive thing too.
