About Rick Hack

Rick Hack is an Americana singer/songwriter from Randallstown, MD who now resides in Los Angeles. Recently, he debuted three songs from his band, The Tinbenders at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival in a new film "SISTER" that were included in the soundtrack.

Rick began his singing career fronting a couple bands, but it was with the aforementioned The Tinbenders opening for many notable southern bands, which helped him and the band build a solid fan base. In the Southeast, bands like The Hazies, 3lb Thrill, Cowboy Mouth, Drivin’ n Cryin, Tonic, and even Hootie and the Blowfish allowed the band to establish a name of their own. Their debut release received mainstream airplay so audiences grew from regional shows to one performance for over 10,000 in the central park of Columbia, South Carolina.

Over the last 5 years Rick now continues focuses both on his solo material and performs with a new outfit called The Burn Riffs. For his debut recording Rick reunited with artist John Thomas Griffin (guitarist of Cowboy Mouth and The Red Rockers), bassist Marcus Blake (The Rollins Band and Mother Superior) and drummer Matt Tecu (Jakob Dylan's band) to write new material. Along the way, he collaborated with Robb Torres of the band Trapt to co-write songs. Last year, Rick and The Burn Riffs created two songs for the film trailer “For Ellen” starring Paul Dano and John Heder. However, this year it was the his first band The Tinbenders who were asked to include three of their tracks in the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival premiere of the film “SISTER” starring Barbara Hershey and Reid Scott.

In addition to the bands he opened for with The Tinbenders, Rick has graced the stage with 80's iconic band Big Country for their latest world tour. He’s also performed with Freedy Johnton, Everclear, HAIM, The Kyle Gass Band, Marcy Playground, and appeared on numerous radio and TV programs. He has performed at the House of Blues on Sunset, The Viper Room, The Mint, Room 5, Saint Rocke and other notable venues in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and all over the Carolina's.

Rick writes his own songs and says this is like a new beginning for his career.
His debut recording with Red Queen Records hits digital stores everywhere on November 25th, 2014.
