A quick hello, during a very busy and challenging time in my family's life. We've been looking for some land to call our own for the last 21 years, and finally, TODAY, we were able to purchase a neglected piece of bare land, about 45 minutes drive from Nelson, New Zealand. Several crazy things happened that defy explanation: through a series of miscommunications we lost a significant amount in the currency conversion of a family loan from overseas, then we missed out on a $20,000 government first-home buyer's grant by 10 minutes this morning. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. All I could say was, "God, what are You doing??!!" Just this evening, when reading the younger children a bedtime story, I noticed something: God was telling Gideon he still had too many men in his army. So He got rid of a whole chunk of them - sent them home. Next, God said, you've still got too many men. He eventually whittled the army of 22,000 men down to only 300 !! However, He still won a mighty victory with these 300 men. I don't know how it applies exactly in our case, but if you know how to pray, We'd really appreciate it. We need a miracle.
