Thank you for hanging in there with me and continuing to listen to and share my music. I am eternally grateful. While my journey has been a long one, I must tell you, it has definitely been interesting; and I am a better man for it. When you create music, you wonder if and how it will be accepted by the masses. I am a singer, songwriter, born and raised in Washington, DC, and call the beautiful city of Greenbelt, MD, my home. Music is, and always has been, my passion. The blending of the instruments and the harmony of the voices never fails to take me to places sometimes hard to even imagine. I was captured by its spell when I was but a youth and remain a welcome captive to this day.
Thought I was destined to be a success as a member of The State Department, one of the groups who recorded and released a few songs written and produced by Van McCoy (The Hustle). You can find them on YouTube…give them a listen. The group never became the hit we hoped to and we disbanded after a few years. Pushing forward, I became a background singer for R &B artist, Candi Staton, and ventured into acting and singing in musical theater.
Because I believe “There is no expiration date on dreams,” now, years later, including twenty wonderful years as a sixth grade Middle-School teacher, I am ready to make music and sing again; this time with my own music and the music of my producer, Qaadir Sumler. These songs from my soon to be released CD, First-Class Ticket, tell stories of love and lust, hurt and pain, and I hope that once you hear them, you can’t help but listen to them again.
