About Robert Jürjendal
Robert Jürjendal (1966) Estonian musician, guitarist and composer.
In 1981-1985 he studied classical guitar and composition at (expired link) Tallinn Music School, Estonia. Later, in 1992 - 1997 he participated (expired link) Guitar Craft Courses. In 1992 he formed a group Weekend Guitar Trio who recently celebrated its 30th Anniversary. He as been active member of the groups Fragile, UMA, Five Seasons and performed in many countries.
Beside the Estonian artists Riho Sibul, Tõnis Mägi, Kaido Kirikmäe and many others, Robert has collaborated with Five Seasons (EST/ Denmark), Jan Bang and Arve Henriksen (Norway) Petri Kuljuntausta (Finland), David Rothenberg (USA), Andi Pupato (CH), Tim Bowness (UK), Peter Chilvers (UK), Toyah Willcox (UK), Markus Reuter (Austria), Jon Durant (USA), Sandor Szabo (HUN), Colin Edwin (UK).
Robert Jürjendal has written music for documentaries, theatre and art exhibitions. Beside the guitar music he has composed for harpsichord, string quartet, choirs and mixed ensembles. In 2024 he composed and arranged music for his solo program "Open Horizons" performed by himself on Electric Guitar, New Wind Jazz Orchestra and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Wolf Kerschek.
As a band member/ leader or producer he has released more than 60 albums.
Robert Jürjendal has released 5 solo albums: Source of Joy (Unsung Records 2013), Balm of Light (iapetus media 2015) Simple Past (Strangiato Music 2016), Water Finds A Way (NewdOG Records) and LP "Music For Long Evenings .
