Song Reviews
Southern BBQ
As minimally critical as I like to be of another person's song, I am surprised by the comfortable feelthis song has to the listener. I think it was well done and has a sort of downhome life to it. I enjoyed it and look forward to hearing more from this artist. Keep up the good work, genuine music tends to stand out,and you have captured that here.

A Feet of Musical Gumbo
A definite Louisiana feel, complete with second line groove and chicken-esque guitar lines. It reminded me a bit of Little Feet, in a good way, but with a unique approach to the bass line. One characteristic I enjoyed particularly was the harmonized guitar parts which differed in tone one clean, and one dirty. I personally want more of that, mostly because I am a guitar guy... and a couple stop figures would enhance it, but not to take anything away from a well thought out tribute to a familiar and pleasing style. Bravo.

Funky progressive
I like the chicken pecking sound on the instruments. The lyrics are fun. Sounds like everyone had a fun time playing the music. Vocally a little like a lou Reed style. I like the guitar solo very cool . Keep up the fun stuff a little zydeco going on there to.

Rythmic and beautiful song
The bluesy feeling of the song is perfect! The instruments are all very well played. The piano work is very well combined with the guitar parts. The drums also give the beat and the vocals have the right character. The piano in the beginning is very surprising and also good is the sound of the accordion. The solo also shows skill and the production is very nice in general. A song that could make your day definately!

A DISH of Many Flavors!
Now, in my professional opinion, THIS project COULD turn out to be a VERY DELICIOUS platter of synergistic flavors and colors, Once properly cooked! ALL the ingredients are there, and in proper proportions, and in their proper places and levels. And the kitchen is Smelling GOOD. The casserole just hasn't been out into the oven yet, and the ingredients haven't yet been able to get gel, and cook "together"into one Cohesive presentation of a dish! To me, the frequencies coming from this has suggested that each ingredient is Still performing on it's Own, and not In pocket with it's various counterparts, and it detracts from the wonderful potential this venture REALLY Possesses! It's catchy, and colorful and REALLY could SPARKLE with a lot of Fine running, concentration on being a Tight Cohesive UNIT making Every stroke "In Sync" presented WITH that confidence That THIS TOGETHERNESS WILL induce! And People will be FLOCKING For REPEAT Tastes and servings of this "SOU-THERN-BAR-B-QUE"!!!!!! SHARED With nothing but UTMOST RESPECT and LOVE! BLESSINGS for the BEST!

Amazing song
The music had great sounds and tones that really grabbed my attention. and vocals were on point and brought as much to the song as the music did. Very well made and I really did enjoy it a lot. Just wanted to give you a little feedback didn’t have anything negative to say about it at all. Thanks for your time

Meters/Dead/Dire Straights/Huey "Piano" Smith/Billy Fury
Trying to put my finger on the blues melody/recipe used in Southern Barbecue. The marvelous file search on my CPU's music hard drive located the tune which is the ancestor of Southern Barbecue. It is a tune called Nothin' Shakin' (apparently "g" wasn't a cool letter to end words in song titles). The original is by, who could forget-drumroll please-- Billy Fury. (Just cancelled by Billy Fury descendants). But I confess my knowledge of the Fury tune is only derivative. The Beatles covered it early in their career as evidenced by its appearance in performance for the BBC on the Live at the BBC Disc 2, track 13. Southern Barbecue is modern sounding with professional performances on guitar and keyboard. Percussion never missing a beat. Vocals a little Knopfler/mid-eighties Dylan. A little Deadish/Scarlet Begonias harmony guitar. Some Nashville inspired runs. Throw in Huey "Piano" Smith for the Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu vibe. I get a Meters New Orleans overall vibe because of the accordion. Overall fine job,

Happy, nice, almost there
A nice, upbeat, fresh start of this song, followed by a saloon-like piano and some guitar. Yo caught my attention anyway. After a (maybe bit long) intro, the vocals come in. In my opinion they might be more up front for more really hearing and understanding the lyrics. Love the distorted bits of solo and the country-ish bits. Well played (live recorded, or used "tape speed"?) Like the harmonies, but as a producer I would have definitely asked for another take to get it more punchy. I think the vocal lines deserve a more firm way of singing to uplift the song as a whole. So all in all, I think it's a nice song, gives me a happy feeling, with some very nice solo's played, but I think with a little work it could be better still. Wish you succes. (Oh,... and: how so progressive rock???) :-) with regards, Ronn van Etten

bel barbecue

Robert Meloccaro ... southern Barbecue
Interesting sound and all the ingredients of a good song fejt the track was stuttering in places and at times the instruments were going off in different directions not sure if this was an effect you were going after but that's what it sounds like to me but you have jam in your category genre . But the vocal is good and lead solo but the back line sounds all over the place but still interesting

Finger Lickin Good
Nice groove and has the old Cajun feel for sure! The bass is really nice and floats in the pocket. Nice mix of instruments and structure of song itself. I can see it as a big dance tune played live!

BBQ SOUTH
I love great introductions and need to be very tight and alluring to be able to draw you the listener in, well the instrumentals did it for sure there's no doubt about that, percussion, bass, strings and guitar and keys, spot on.. I think that's where the strength is, for sure but it all overp[owered the vocal, the voice needs to match it, it needs to be more powerful and a bit more bluesy rocky than it is. Bit like Denis Waterman for the minder theme. Just needed to be listened to in the mixing stage and to be honest about it if you think something in the mix could be better portrayed, then that's the time to say so.

your song
Hi Robert, thank you for sending me your song for review. I like the great feel inside this song. Very groovy and sounding very clear and very good. The song, well written, well played, the pianos playing very nice riffs as well as those guitars. The most I like are, the lyrics and of course, your great voice, keep that work up, congratulations, many greetings from Germany, Alfredo from King Mambo
