Outside The Box
Sometimes it is best to just reach beyond your potential and just see what might happen. You have to get to a place in your life, career, and relationships where you must test the waters to see where you are in life, but when it comes to music, this is where I am now:
I have been chasing that neon rainbow for many years, but often, I caught myself jamming out to a lot of Rock songs, and contemporary songs. As a believer in Christ, I often would listen to Christian Rock, or Christian Contemporary music, singing right along with them quite often. Well.... I got caught one day! A couple of my friends said, "Hey Roger, why aren't you doing that music instead of Country?" I said, "Why do you ask that?" They said to me, "Because you 're pretty good at it, and we think you ought to open up more and share it with the world!" So...I gave it some thought and said to myself, "Why not?"
So...I am going to be working on some other material besides just Country-style music. I want to do this just to share my heart and soul with you all. I want to "color outside the lines" of this kaleidoscope called genre, and really see how I would be received as an artist and creator in other genres as well as just Country itself. It'll be fun, and I look forward to it. I almost have my studio up and going, so before too long, I will have something up, even if it is a rough draft.
