Edwin Jesus Diaz, "RokBottom (expired link) RokStar," was born on July 27, 1974 in Beth Israel Hospital in the Lower East Side region of New York City known as "Alphabet City." He was raised from the age of 2 through 19 years old in Harlem, NY. From the age of 5 through 14 years old he studied music in Harlem School Of The Arts in Harlem, NY ((expired link)), where he was on a scholarship for playing the violin. There he learned how to read music, how to play a little viola, chello, bass, piano & the recorder. At the age of 9 years old he played the violin with his (expired link) orchestra at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, NY with the reknown spanish artist, "El Puma." This was RokStar's most memorable & highest achievement as a violinist. He attended Middle School at Mott Hall ((expired link). 223), a school for the gifted & talented children of New York City. After graduating from Middle School, he attended & graduated from George Washington High School "In The Heights," known as Washington Heights, NY. In 1994 he joined & served his country honorably in The (expired link). Army for 3 years, 3 months & 28 days, from January of 1994 through March of 1997. He then went on to pursue his dreams of playing college football & did so while attending the State University Of New York at Morrisville College in upstate NY in the town of Morrisville, NY. Due to a terrible injury he was unable to continue playing college football & pursuing his dreams of one day making it to the pros. He was so discouraged by his inability to continue pursuing his football dreams that he felt lost & confused. He decided to drop out of school & so, he did. He returned back home to NYC where he worked many different jobs mostly in retail & customer service. He moved out of & back to NYC many times in hopes & search of better job opportunities. As he matured & grew wiser he realized & accepted that he is a New Yorker. He was born & raised in the toughest of cities throughout the entire world. In the greatest country of the world. In the land of opportunity. Where any dream is possible to attain, long as one has the motivation, drive & determination to never give up pursuing them. His life has been a rollercoaster of ups & downs but he was not going to give up. No matter what. He was always musically inclined. Especially, with playing an instrument, reading music & dancing. However, it wasn't until 2009 that because of influences around him, that he decided to write music. As time went on he developed a unique style of expression & character. He learned how to record his lyrics. He became more confident in his craft. He began performing in front of crowds & he loved it. Writing, recording & performing music in front of the audiences is the greatest feeling he has ever experienced. Throughout all of his life experiences, all of his ups & downs, all of the tribulations, RokStar learned to stay focused & to never give up following his dreams. It has been an epic "sojourn." One that he would not trade anything in the world for because it has made him who he is today. He is RokBottom (expired link) RokStar, an artist & he does Spanish & English Hip-Hop, R&B, Urban Reggaeton, Club, Pop & Dance Music. RokStar can create any kind of music he pust his mind to. RokStar is in a genre of his own.
