It is up to a individual to carve his or her path in life.
Name is Rolgunz, My journey started back at the age of 7.
My grandparents always took me to church. I guess you can say that’s where I fell in love with music. Watching the congregation choir sing their songs, I was always intrigued by the sound of the Piano. When I turned 13, The head musician for the church offered me a chance to join the band. I was quite nervous at first, first couple of weeks, a month. It really didn’t break through for me until both drummers were not present. I was the savior of the evening. From that day I built a lot of confidence over the years. Teaching myself how to play the chords, taking notes from the Pianist all throughout my childhood.
Thank you Grandpa and Grandma, I grew up with the confidence that I needed.
I notice that Music is my yoga, my stress free button, something I can never take for granted because music is life. Life can be written through history taking the form of Poetry. When I got to highschool, I noticed failing grades was always my problem. Having stayed back in 11th grade twice, I eventually dropped out of school.
My Grandfather died in 93′ leaving my Grandmother which I promised her back in 2001 that I would get my diploma. In 2004 My father fell very sick , and my Grandmother passed in 2005, 3 months later I accomplished that little task.
Alot has occured in my life ever since then. Now it’s 2016 and I feel like I have carved my path, written a lot of memories. Thinking back to how I fell in a hole when my father passed in 2012. Locking myself and abandoning dreams, I reminded myself what was most important to me as much as family. “Music”.
Music has the power to change a person’s life, Through harmony, melodies, rhythm and soul.
Through the ups and downs in life we have to learn how to balance peace and love using the power of Sound.
